Episode 2 Debriefing

The "Nestor" episode adds historical examples of imperialism to back up Stephen's paranoia over British influence on the Irish.

Connections to the Next Episode

Like the first episode, "Nestor" is not terribly difficult to understand, though Stephen does slip into some confusing stream-of-consciousness now and then. He does this for most of the next episode, "Proteus", making it one of the novel's more difficult reads; don't be discouraged if it doesn't make sense at first, but read the pre-episode briefing and try to get a sense toward where the fragments of thought making up the different paragraphs are pointing.
